Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to delete your account and personal data from SleepyBot. These instructions apply to all users — whether you signed up directly, linked a Google account, connected Instagram, or authenticated through TikTok. For details on what data we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.

1. How to Request Deletion

To delete your account and all associated data, email us from your registered account email address:

We confirm every request within 24 hours and you will receive an email at the registered address summarising what will be deleted and when. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please re-send your request.

An in-app "Delete account" button under Settings is coming soon (tracked as a follow-up). Until it ships, the email path above is the authoritative way to delete your data.

2. What Gets Deleted

When you request deletion, we permanently remove the following data:

• Your account record (email, hashed password, display name, profile picture)
• All generated videos, scripts, and Story Bibles you created
• All series configurations, episode metadata, and prompt history
• OAuth bindings and access tokens for linked social accounts (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok)
• Your token-balance history and reservation records
• Usage analytics tied to your user identifier
• Support correspondence after the deletion request is fulfilled

3. What Is Retained

A small amount of data is retained for legal, financial, or fraud-prevention reasons even after your account is deleted:

• Payment receipts — Stripe retains billing records for the period required by tax and consumer-protection law (typically 7 years).
• Deletion-request audit log — a record that you requested deletion and on what date, kept for compliance with data-protection regulations (GDPR Art. 30).
• Permanent social-binding tombstones — an opaque, non-reversible record that a particular external social-platform identifier was previously bound to a SleepyBot account. This prevents the same social account being used to claim multiple welcome grants by repeated sign-ups. No personally identifying information is retained in the tombstone.
• Anonymised, aggregated metrics — statistics that cannot be tied back to you (e.g. "X videos generated in March 2026").

4. Timeline

• Within 24 hours — confirmation email sent.
• Within 30 days — your account is disabled, login is no longer possible, and your content is removed from active systems.
• Within 90 days — all data is permanently removed from backups and downstream caches. This matches the retention window described in our Privacy Policy §5.

5. After Deletion

• Your login credentials will no longer work and the account cannot be recovered.
• Videos that were already published to external platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) remain on those platforms — SleepyBot cannot delete content from third-party services. To remove those, sign in to the relevant platform and delete them there.
• Active subscriptions are cancelled. Pre-paid token packs are non-refundable per our Terms of Service.
• If you sign up again later with the same email address, you will start with a fresh account. Your previous content cannot be restored.
